EscherCloudAI, a visionary company in the realm of AI and data centre capabilities, was established on the foundation of strategic foresight and industry experience. The journey began with Great Grey Investment, a private equity firm launched in 2013, specialising in real estate ventures across the Netherlands and Belgium.

With a keen eye for emerging trends and market needs, the firm played a pivotal role in one of Amsterdam's most ambitious projects, Wooden City, in 2020. This venture opened the doors to realising the growing necessity for data centre capacity and AI compute power, especially in innovative spaces.

The company initiated the Silver Falcon project in 2021, a significant 78MW data centre project located in Westpoort, Amsterdam. This venture marked a turning point, showcasing the firm’s commitment to addressing the burgeoning demand for advanced AI infrastructure.

Building on this momentum, EscherCloudAI was born.

The company's mission is to create a comprehensive ecosystem of assets and capabilities, meticulously designed to meet the holistic needs of enterprise AI applications. Founder and CEO

With a background in investment banking Tom kicked off the Silver Falcon data centre project in Westpoort Amsterdam in 2021.

Soon after, he founded EscherCloudAI, which through development and acquisition builds an ecosystem of assets and capabilities that addresses all core enterprise AI needs.

Chief of Staff

With more than 25 years of IT & consulting experience in blue-chip companies like Cisco, Bain, BT, Sun.

Wouter has leadership roles in sales, channel , product, consulting and svc mgmt, as well as a P&L responsibility of £100M’s p.a.

20 years of experience as CTO and Chief HPC Architect of the largest HPC systems in Europe.

Co-founder of vScaler, delivering HPC and AI cloud orchestration software environments. Former Head of HPC at Boston Limited, a leading integrator of HPC clusters for simulation & modelling

Andy Grant

Chief Revenue Officer,

With over 25 years of experience in the supercomputing and AI industry, having worked with SGI/Cray, IBM, and Atos/Eviden.

At Eviden, as the global VP of HPC, AI, and Quantum computing sales, he drove substantial year-over-year growth and led major initiatives like JUPITER, Europe’s first Exascale system, under the EuroHPC program.
